My First Blog Post

Today i am going to share the cupcakes i have been making for Valentines day over the years!

Valentine Cupcakes!

I seek cupcake inspiration everywhere! One of my favorite places to look is TV. Cupcake wars and DC cupcakes are my two favorite cupcake shows. 

DC cupcakes is very creative and entertaining. Each episode the owners of DC cupcakes Katherine and Sophie sisters and owners of Georgetown cupcakes gets a new client. These clients have no ordinary orders but massive amazing displays. Sophie and Kathrine are amazing at what they do and always pull it off. This show has drama and disaster played up in it but overall i LOVE it!

When I was in 8th grade my teacher assigned poetry. My head went crazy i wanted something meaningful to write about but no idea was good enough. Then it just came to me. Cupcakes. It is something that i am very passionate about, it was perfect. After what seemed like a billion rewrites and adjustments, i created this poem:

CUPCAKE

I want to bake a sweet treat, something Savory to eat!

I sift my cocoa and my flour, then some salt and baking powder.

Whisk together, set aside. Mom will get a great surprise.

In the Mixer beat the butter, when it’s creamy add the sugar.

Crack an egg, then two. Vanilla? One teaspoon will do.

Turn down to low; add the dry, pour in the milk, then up to high,

Blend until combined.

 

The oven dings they go inside. Let them bake for 25!

While they cool let’s make a frosting, trust me it is not exhausting.

Just mix the salt and butter, a drop vanilla, then another.

Four cups powdered sugar, ½ cup whipping cream.

This frosting you can only dream

When it’s ready, frost them carefully and steady.

 

Picture perfect, so delicious, but now I have to clean the dishes.

Rinse the mixer, load the washer. Must get rid of this disaster

Before my mother sees. Faster, faster!

Mom just got home, my clean is done.

Today has been a lot of fun.

I split the first one with my mother.

Then we devour it together.

 

I hope you enjoyed my poem. The inspiration was my own baking experience. My mom was always on me that i left the kitchen a mess, but now i am really good about leaving no mess behind. I will see you at my next blog!

I would say i am a very creative person and i like to use that creativity in my cupcakes. I have made many cupcakes and i decorate them different every time. These are some of my favorite fun cupcakes. Most of these ideas i found on instagram or pinterest. I am up to any cupcake challenge, wether making a cupcake icecream cone or a cupcake shoe i am there.
